Kathy's Bright New Beginnings Childcare

About Miss Kathy

Hello, my name is Kathy Reider and I live in Sugar Land, Texas. I have been a Sugar Land resident for over thirty five years now. We live in The Reserve at Glen Laurel off West Airport and Eldridge Road area. I have been an Early Childhood Educator for over 38 years now and a Registered Home Childcare Provider through the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services Since 1990. I served on the Board of Allied Professional Home Childcare Association as President and Vice President. I am an active member of the Texas Professional Home Child Care Association and I am enrolled in USDA food program called Child Nutrition, Inc.

I have a wonderful husband who loves to help me with the children. He attends all of my childcare training's with me throughout the year. He has over 35 years experience as a Police Officer. I have three great children (1 daughter and 2 sons) that are all grown up and 2 beautiful and sweet granddaughters. My daughter is a full time realtor. My oldest son teaches at a Catholic School and attends HCC part time and my youngest son is a Sugar Land Fireman. My children are the reason why I chose my profession as an Early Childhood Educator and Registered Home Childcare Provider. When I worked outside my home and had my children in Commercial Daycare and realized I wanted more for my children. Being home with them allowed me to spend time with them and allowed them to have other playmates. I was very fortunate that I was able to be with my children when they were little and to see them grow. You miss out on so much when you have to work outside your home away from your children. My heart goes out to all working moms. Caring for children is very rewarding for me and my husband.

I was born up north and lived there until I was 14 and then my father who was in the US Navy retired and moved us to Guadalajara, Mexico to retire. I lived there for 5 years and then moved to Texas after school. It was a great experience and I learned a lot about their culture while I lived there and how to speak Spanish. I really miss the food.

In my spare time I love to visit with my children, play with our dogs, go to a good movie and work in the yard when the weather permits. We like going to arts and craft shows in Chapel Hill and in Wimberly during the holidays. My husband is a retired Sugar Land Police Officer with over 40 year's experience in law enforcement. In his spear time he enjoys cowboy shooting and is a member of the Single Action Shooting Society. I guess you could say my husband is all American true Texas boy through and through and real gentlemen to top. My husband and I share very strong Christian morals and values. We are both Baptist by faith. We do not drink or smoke. I do implement my Christian values into my childcare. I believe all children should be taught and shown love, respect, courtesy, manners and consideration of others. I really do feel children learn best by example. My husband and I have been very blessed to have and had professions that we both love and feel very strongly about.
